About the Speaker:
Jennifer Wheeler Christian
Director of Training Solutions at AFS and The Institute
Jen joined AFS in November 2019 as Director of Training Solutions for the Institute. She is responsible for Institute classroom and virtual training, In-Plant and Regional/Chapter Trainings, and Foundry e-Learning. Jen was instrumental in launching the Institute’s Introduction to Supervisor Development course in 2023.
Jen brings nearly 24 years’ association management experience to AFS, including her role with the Forging Industry Association as Director of Membership & Training. Prior to that role, Jen worked for 13 years at FMA, the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International®, co-host of the FABTECH® trade show and creator of the national event, Manufacturing Day (MFG Day). During her tenure at FMA, Jen led the e-Learning division and grew member training participation by branding webinars as FabCasts® and e-Learning modules as eFab® courses. She was also the liaison to two technical councils and one management council where she coordinated many technical conferences, workshops, management annual meetings, in-plant training and popular plant tour events. While at FMA, Jen successfully completed levels I and II of Bartell & Bartell’s Leadership Flight School.
Jen graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with B.A degrees in Psychology and Sociology. She is an avid Hoosier fan and lives in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with her two sons. You can find her at numerous baseball diamonds during the summer cheering them on.
